Quiksilver Foundation History

For years, each of our brands have been actively engaged in charitable activities, both in the regions in which we operate and beyond. Boardriders, Inc. (formerly, Quiksilver Inc.) has always recognized the importance of corporate social responsibility and benevolence. Since the beginning, our regional businesses have all given time, dollars and products to various causes in their markets. The first formal charitable initiatives were launched in 1999, with the creation of "The Crossing" and the "Quiksilver Initiative", an environmental department of Quiksilver Europe. The "Quiksilver Foundation" was formed as a private 501-C3 foundation in 2004 in Huntington Beach and centralized all of Quiksilver’s charitable giving under one umbrella.  Offices of the Quiksilver Foundation were set up in Huntington Beach, St. Jean De Luz and Torquay to reach people worldwide. The Quiksilver Foundation commenced doing its own philanthropic work and partnered with other organizations and individuals to extend its impact. The Foundation remained active from 2004 until 2013 and granted over $6 million and approximately the same value in product during that time. The Foundation suspended operations from 2013 to 2016 during Quiksilver’s re-organization. The Foundation has now reactivated its operations, renamed itself “Boardriders Foundation” to reflect the broad range of brands in the company’s portfolio and is developing plans for future philanthropic activity.
