The Infiniti Comp TDC fullsuit won XCEL’s 5 th SIMA award for Wetsuit of the Year.

2017

XCEL introduced the FDA-approved* Thermo Dry Celliant (TDC) wetsuit interior into the marketplace, keeping consumers warm through increased blood flow and muscle retention.

2014

XCEL reinvented wetsuit design by introducing the magnetic closure system.

2013

The Drylock Boot won SIMA’s Hardgoods Accessory Product of the Year, becoming the most reliable surfing bootie in the marketplace.

2012

The Infiniti Drylock fullsuit won SIMA’s Wetsuit of the Year, XCEL’s third honorary award.

2010

The US Special Forces adopted XCEL wetsuits as its trusted supplier of military suits, all made out of the factory in Haleiwa.

2009

XCEL won its second SIMA Wetsuit of the Year award for the groundbreaking Infiniti Drylock fullsuit, featuring the industry’s first ever donut cuff and waterproof wetsuit zipper.

2008

XCEL won its first ever SIMA Wetsuit of the Year award for the Infiniti fullsuit and is acquired by Burleigh Point.

2007

The offset back zip design was created by XCEL, allowing for easier changing and a more enhanced performance fit.

2006

XCEL introduced the X2 chest zip, reinventing its very own industry first: the X1.

2003

Taking influence from the footwear marketplace, XCEL redefined wetsuit booties for surfing.

2001

XCEL brought to market the first premium, all-stretch fullsuits.

2000

The revolutionary X1 chest zip, invented by XCEL, became the industry’s first ever chest zip, changing the wetsuit industry forever.

1996

XCEL moved into its new headquarters in Haleiwa, HI.

1990

Ed founded the XCEL Pro which became the launching platform for many top local Hawaiian surfers.

1985

XCEL created the first neoprene/Lycra combination suits in the surf market.

1983

Ed D’Ascoli created XCEL wetsuits out of his house in front of Backdoor on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.
